EDL leader to stand for cop role
  ;D ;D
Kevin Carroll
The English Defence League have announced that Kevin Carroll will be standing as a candidate in the election to become the police and crime commissioner for Bedfordshire.
Mr Carroll, who lives in Luton, says he will put an end to ?political correctness? and ?two-tier policing? in Bedfordshire if he is voted in.

The election for the role will take place in November, with the winning candidate expected to hold the police to account and act as a voice of the people.
The  will also aim to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service.
A statement on the English Defence League website said Kevin Carroll has ?strong views on policing? and wanted to make the police ?properly accountable to the law-abiding majority who pay for it?.
They said he would be campaigning for an end to cuts to the police service, for the police to stop manning mobile speed cameras, and for officers? pay and conditions to be improved.
The English Defence League is asking its members for donations to help raise the deposit of ?5,000 needed to field a candidate.
So far ?716 has been raised.
More to follow.
